On a personal note, throughout my own counselling experience I experienced clarity concerning my present and past life situations. It was this which prompted me to train as a counsellor. It is with humility and passion that I dedicate myself in the service of the client-therapist relationship. Throughout my training I have become trained in Choice Theory (CT), Reality Therapy (RT) and Person Centred Counselling (PCC). My skills set include working with issues such as relationships, depression, stress/anxiety disorders, substance abuse and eating disorders. I currently hold a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy coupled with certificates in Addiction, Depression, Sexual Abuse and Suicide. I am committed to engaging in on-going professional training and development. As a current accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Along with my private practice I am a volunteer with the Village Counselling Service in Tallaght for the last 3 years.
Why / How does therapy work?
Therapy provides a safe caring, non-judgemental and supportive space which allows people to explore issues within their life that are presently causing distress. Therapists use different approaches and interventions to suit the requirements of the client. The goal within the therapeutic relationship is help the client work towards making more positive choices.
